Opportunities Ahead
As the maritime industry progresses towards a lower-carbon future, Equatorial is committed to expanding its range of sustainable marine fuel solutions. Alongside our existing biofuel offerings, we continue to explore opportunities in LNG, methanol and ammonia to support our customers’ evolving energy needs.
With the LNG Bunker Licence, Equatorial is well positioned to participate in Singapore’s growing LNG bunkering ecosystem. Looking ahead, we are working towards expanding our LNG offering to include bio-LNG, further strengthening our ability to support customers’ sustainability ambitions and transition to cleaner marine fuels.

Bio-LNG:
Bio-LNG, a renewable fuel produced from organic waste streams, offers significant emissions reduction potential, with lifecycle carbon intensity potentially falling below 15 gCO₂eq/MJ. It is expected to play an important role in supporting compliance with FuelEU Maritime requirements and the IMO’s GFI framework through 2040.
With continued investment in LNG infrastructure and supply chains, we expect broader adoption of LNG and Bio-LNG as marine fuels in the years ahead.
Methanol:
In alignment with Singapore’s methanol bunkering Technical Reference (TR 129) and internationally recognised fuel standards, including IMPCA and ISO 6583, Equatorial has commissioned four IMO Type II chemical bunker tankers capable of carrying and delivering methanol. This investment reflects our commitment to supporting the development of a safe, reliable, and sustainable marine energy supply chain while advancing the adoption of alternative marine fuels.
Ammonia:
Equatorial is also advancing the adoption of ammonia as a marine fuel, guided by MPA standards, international frameworks, and industry-led bunkering safety studies. Through collaborations with key stakeholders across the maritime value chain, Equatorial continues to support the development of a safe, reliable, and end-to-end low- and zero-carbon ammonia bunkering ecosystem in Singapore.
